Novo mesto in Archaeological Ages. A hundred Years of the Excavations

Abstract

The author gives a condensed survey of archaeological inheritance in Novo mesto on the basis of the up till now researches from the time of urn grave-yards over the Hallstat and La Tene period and provincial Roman culture till the town foundation. The richest findings come from the older iron age with princes' graves when Novo mesto was among the leading centres of Hallstatt culture in Slovenia. The archaeological findings from Novo mesto are world known.
